Ok so I'll admit it, I'm pretty much a goofball. I cry when the Cowboys lose. I laugh when a see a little diaper bottom waddle along. It takes a lot to make me mad, but for some reason referees and umpires at youth sports infuriate me. I love to cook and I love to eat - a lethal combination I admit, but I'm learning that eating deep-fried ice cream might actually have some bad effect on my health. Not sure how that happened. The good Lord saved me from the mess I was making of my life and has been good enough to bless me "exceedingly abundantly above all I could ask or think".
I know Lou Gerhig claimed to be the luckiest man on the face of the earth, and I suppose he could have been while he was still here, but I am claiming the title for now. For some unknown reason the greatest girl on the planet fell for my ridiculous plot and was tricked into marrying me. I have a daughter who has amazed me since the day she was born and only amazes me more as she grows older. I have step kids that are the greatest. No really, they are. I highly recommend them as indentured servants.
Oh I almost forgot. I also have the greatest job in the world. And no it isn't photography. I love photography, love everything about it, but that isn't my job. My job is recording life and lifetimes. Little memory helpers when your mind can't quite remember as well. The ability to pick up an album, look on a wall and not just remember; relive. When mom and Dad have gone to a better place, when it's been 20 years since the wedding, when your baby is graduating (can you believe they are already graduating?) you reflect. Sometimes you need to reflect. When tragedy touches your life, what do you save? What are the only things that matter? The people you love, and the memories you created with them, and if you've been smart enough to have recorded life, you take the pictures. That is what I do. I record things for later so you can not only look back, but relive.

Hi, I’m Dominique Harmon.
I got into photography while enjoying taking pictures of my son, Hunter, growing up. My house is completely full of family pictures. I really got into photography when Hunter started sports at the age of 4 and I haven’t stopped yet. When people kept telling me “you should do this for a living” I thought... hmmm... doing something I love and getting paid for it? WOW!
What a concept. I absolutely love being around people and socializing so not only do I get to take photographs but I get to socialize and meet new people constantly. I’ve already met so many people that I have connected with through my photography that I can’t feel but completely BLESSED at this point in my life. My husband Tim is so excited that I’ve decided to do this and he’s pretty much my no. 1 fan. Thanks Tim and Hunter for filling my life with so much love and joy. I love both of you more than life itself.
In addition to my blessed life with my family, I was lucky enough to run into Barry after years of not seeing him and whom I’ve known for about 20 years or so. Barry is an incredible photographer and designer. You put him in front of a computer and you just know that whatever comes out is going to be INCREDIBLE. Thanks Barry for coming into my life and making my dreams come true. |
